Our Mission
We exist to help underserved youth living in San Francisco’s low-income housing communities build brighter futures through mentorship and youth development.
The Problem
Bayview-Hunter’s Point was built in response to a need for workers at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard, which was shut down in 1989 by the city after decades of providing 3,000 residents with employment. The shutdown caused a tremendous impact on the stability of the neighborhood, at a time when drugs and violence began to infiltrate the city. Poverty became a common status.
Our Mission
City of Dreams’ mission is to help the youth living in San Francisco’s low-income housing communities build brighter futures through mentorship and youth development.
Our Vision
To end the generational cycle of poverty in our city’s most challenged neighborhoods.
Our Solution
To help Bayview youth overcome the challenges presented by systemic injustices through mentorship, health & wellness programs, life skills courses, and preparation for social, academic, and professional environments.

Warriors investing in our youth.
As part of the NBA 75th Legacy Project, the Warriors partnered with Rakuten and NBA Cares on a Legacy Project to upgrade safe spaces at City of Dreams for kids and families to live, learn, and play.
We are proud to share a common goal with the Warriors of empowering underserved Bayview youth by investing in accessible resources for low-income neighborhoods.
This Legacy upgrade includes a new kitchen, new furniture, window replacements, and a Warriors-themed basketball court.
