City of Dreams Appoints New Executive Director!
San Francisco, CA - City of Dreams, a non-profit based in the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhoods of San Francisco has named Jarae Clark as Executive Director. Clark will lead the organization’s mission of helping the youth living in San Francisco’s low-income housing communities build brighter futures through mentorship and youth development, with the goal of ending the generational cycle of poverty in the city’s most challenged neighborhoods.
Clark previously served as the Program Manager for City of Dreams, while also working with adolescents involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice system as a social worker in the Bayview-Hunters Point and Sunnydale communities for the past five years.
As Executive Director of the 15+ year old non-profit, Clark will actively engage and energize volunteers, families, board members, partnering organizations, alumni, and funders to build brighter futures for the youth through City of Dreams’ programs. She’ll also oversee the organization’s programs serving youths aged 8 & up, which includes Super Saturday events held either in the Bayview or as an educational or active field trip in the Bay Area, a teen program known as Ground Zero, as well as an urban garden program at the Oakdale Community Center.
Clark obtained her Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California and her Bachelors of Social Work from Georgia State University.
